ARCHIVED WEBSITE UPDATES:

NOVEMBER 19, 2016 - "On the road again....."

It's that time of year again, when Peter and his team are traveling down the highway to Toronto for the annual One of a Kind Show! Peter is excited to celebrate his fifth year of being a part of the popular show at the Enercare Centre, and he is looking forward to returning and sharing his work with everyone.

Peter's booth number is P40, and remember that he will be a part of the "Five Day Section", so he will only be at the show from Thursday, November 24th to Monday, November 28th. All other show information can be found by clicking the banner above.

Peter has now joined Twitter as well! You can follow him over at @PeterAllanRice for all his latest updates, live from the One of a Kind Show in Toronto.

We look forward to seeing you at the show soon!

AUGUST 1, 2016 - My day at the Algonquin Art Centre went really well on July 29th, and I met a lot of fascinating people.  We shared many art stories, and kids of all ages enjoyed bringing home their own small piece of glass that they foiled.

I would like to let everyone know about another art demonstration in Kingston, coming up later in August.  I will be at Cornerstone Canadian Art and Craft on Saturday, August 13th from 12:00pm until 5:00pm, and I will be continuing to work on the four pieces that I started at the Algonquin Art Centre. I will have numerous, small, pieces of glass cut into interesting shapes so the kids (and kids at heart) can learn how to foil them and then take them home as a free souvenir. Please visit the gallery's website here for more information. If you happen to be in the area, be sure to drop by.

JUNE 28, 2016 - On June 20th it was learned that Great Spirit Gallery in Toronto has decided to stop selling commissioned artwork, and will focus entirely on framing and printing starting immediately.  They will be undergoing a name change to 'Still Images' as well.  Peter would like to thank Christi for the opportunity to display his work in her gallery, and wishes her all the best with her new business format.

DECEMBER 9, 2015 - Thank you to everyone who came out to support Peter at the One of a Kind Show this past November in Toronto. Peter truly enjoyed sharing his artwork with everyone, and meeting with familiar friends and new acquaintances.

Please see the artwork page to view Peter's new pieces that were on display at the show.

It's that time of year again, when Peter and his team are traveling down the highway to Toronto for the annual One of a Kind Show! It is Peter's fourth year being a part of the popular show at the Enercare Centre (formerly the Direct Energy Centre), and he is very excited to return and share his work with everyone.

Peter's booth number is P30, and remember that he will be a part of the "Five Day Section", so he will only be at the show from Thursday, November 26th to Monday, November 30th. All other show information can be found by clicking the banner above.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

SEPTEMBER 17, 2015 - Peter has enjoyed a very successful Summer season, with great reponses from viewers of his work. The highlight was a three week trip to Alberta and British Columbia where artistic inspiration could be found in every turn in the road, and on every beach walk. He is excited to put some of those visions into glass for the upcoming One of a Kind Show in Toronto, from November 26th until the 30th. Watch for further details about this event in the coming months, and also for more photos of Peter's unique pieces that will be posted on this site.

APRIL 22, 2015 - Unfortunately, The Artisan Zone in Kitchener has closed its doors. The pieces that Peter was showing there will now be distributed to other galleries.

In the mean time, please take a look at the artwork page to view Peter's many new sculptures that he has been working on.

NOVEMBER 6, 2014 - "On the road again....."

It's that time of year again, when Peter and his team are traveling down the highway to Toronto for the annual One of a Kind Show! It is Peter's third year being a part of the popular show at the Direct Energy Centre, and he is very excited to return and share his work with everyone.

Peter will be showing five new panels that involve his new and innovative technique of creating reflections in water.  He will also be introducing his new series of sculptures set on semi-precious minerals, which are in the moderate price range, and are a must see.

Peter's booth number is Q20, and remember that he will be a part of the "Five Day Section", so he will only be at the show from Thursday, November 27th to Monday, December 1st. All other show information can be found by clicking the banner above.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

JUNE 11, 2014 - I am pleased to announce that I am participating in a two artist show called Similes, with gifted Canadian painter Elizabeth Jarworski. It will take place at the Auburn Gallery of Fine Art in Gravenhurst from June 28th through July 19th.

Elizabeth's unique use of vivid colours creates liveliness in her abstract/impressionistic interpretation of the Canadian landscape, and I feel our work will compliment each other very well. I will be at the gallery on June 28th demonstrating my techniques, and will attend the opening reception that afternoon as well. I am excited to be showing a series of new panels at this show, so I hope some of you will be in the area over the duration of Similes, and be able to view these new works.

Also, I will be demonstrating my techniques with glass and stone at the Algonquin Art Centre on Sunday, June 29th from 10:00am - 4:00pm. If you happen to be in the Algonquin region on the long weekend, be sure to drop by.

Best regards,
Peter Allan Rice

I will be at the boutique, working on a new piece and talking to anyone who drops by, on Friday the 17th from noon until 6:00pm. I hope to add another demo date later in the month, so there will be more on that later as well.

All the best,
Peter Allan Rice

AUGUST 27, 2013 - Regrettably, we must announce that The Spotted Moose Emporium in Mount Forest will soon be closing its doors. If you are interested in the pieces that were displayed there, you may contact the artist for more information.

AUGUST 15, 2013 - BREAKING NEWS:

*ART DEMONSTRATION DATE CHANGES*

Unfortunately, I have to inform you that my art demo, at the Spotted Moose Emporium in Mount Forest this Friday, August 16th, will have to be postponed due to a family emergency in Louise's family. (owner of the gallery)  We will try to arrange another date, possibly during the last week of August or a Saturday in September. Our thoughts are with Louise and her family as she flies out to BC to be with them in this difficult time.

We have arranged another art demo date at the Algonquin Art Centre for August 18th from 10 a.m. until 4p.m., so if you happen to be in the area, please drop by the gallery.  Here's hoping that this new date doesn't "attract" severe weather as well.

Afterwards we will still travel on to Gallery 212 in Temagami, ON, for a demonstration on August 20, 2013 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Hope to see you there!

JULY 21, 2013 - Hello everyone,  I hope your summer has started off well.  Here are the two gallery visits I will make this summer, where I will be working on a new piece, and answering any questions that you may have about my work.  Who knows, I may even get you involved in the process!

Spotted Moose Emporium, Mount Forest, ON
August 16, 2013 - 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Gallery 212, Temagami, ON
August 20, 2013 - 10:00am to 4:00pm

Exciting news from the Perivale Gallery on Manitoulin as well, where I am showing my work for the first time this summer.  Out of 368 "shopping experiences" in the province of Ontario, the gallery has been ranked #4 by TripAdvisor! That is quite an honour, considering it is based on the entire province.  To read the existing reviews, click here to visit TripAdvisor and type Perivale Gallery in the search bar.

The Algonquin Art Centre's  theme this year is The Canadian Shield , which has brought out the best in Canada's landscape artists.  My contribution is the sculpture, Ancient Voices,  which can be viewed on the lightbox situated between the first and second wing of the gallery.

And finally, take a moment and head over to the Sculptures section of the Artwork page to view my latest piece, entitled The Rose. You'll notice it's a bit of a departure from my usual subject matter and style, as I was trying to replicate a piece of stained glass that has been in a local retirement home here in St. Marys since 1886. I hope that you agree that the description of The Rose is a fitting tribute to the people who call Kingsway Lodge home.

Enjoy your glorious summer!
Best regards, Peter Allan Rice

APRIL 13, 2013 - The Spotted Moose Emporium opened on March 1, 2013. Peter's work was well received, and "The Moose Lady" is looking forward to tourist season, when there will be even more art enthusiasts visting this quaint gallery.

Peter is also pleased to announce that he will be showing his work at another new gallery this summer. Blooms 'N Loons Art Gallery on Lake Temagami will be open from mid-May to September. Please visit the Gallery Locations page to learn more about this new home for Peter's art.

Spend the day and walk one of the beautiful nature trails, swim, bring a picnic, or have lunch at Killarney Lodge.  It's all well worth the trip to Algonquin.

JULY 24, 2012 - "I would like to thank all of the people who were able to visit booth #86 at the Muskoka Arts and Crafts Show in Bracebridge last weekend.  Your positive comments and kind words have encouraged me to enter similar shows in the near future.  Thanks also to my family members, Alischa, Annette, David and Shawn, who helped set up and take down the display, as well as transport art items at different times throughout the weekend. Enjoy browsing the website, and don't hesitate to contact me with inquiries about my work, or possible commissions." - Peter Allan Rice

JULY 18, 2012 - If you visit the artwork page, you will notice that Peter's works are now sorted into two different sections; "Sculptures" and "Light Sketches".

Peter is pleased to introduce his new style of pieces, which he calls “Light Sketches.” These pieces are designed to hang on a window, and are generally smaller in size than some of his other works. They can be moved very easily from one location to another, and would make a truly unique gift or an introductory piece for any art collection.

Many of Peter's newest light sketches, as well as some of his sculptures will be available for viewing and purchase at the Muskoka Arts and Crafts show (see below for more information). These pieces can be identified by their "location" when viewing them in either gallery.

MAY 26, 2012 - Peter is excited to be showing his work at the Muskoka Arts and Crafts Show in Bracebridge this summer.  Now in its 50th year, Muskoka Arts & Crafts' Summer Show is Muskoka's oldest and largest outdoor art show. Set in a beautiful park, the Summer Show features 200 creative artists from across Canada. Approximately 20,000 to 25,000 enthusiastic people visit the Summer Show to meet the makers and see their work.  The show takes place over a three day period on July 20, 21, & 22nd with free parking and admission by donation only. If you were planning a small or large Muskoka vacation, this would be a fine time to come and take in this art spectacle while you are enjoying the fresh air and beautiful sights that the area has to offer.  He'd love to see you there, and share his many new works with you.  He has concentrated on smaller pieces this year, so there may be that perfect birthday, wedding, anniversary, or anything gift just waiting for you there. Look for more information, times, and maps on how to get to the show at www.muskokaartsandcrafts.com. Just click on Summer Show on the top line.  Look under Exhibitors for the exceptional variety of artists coming from all across Canada. (Peter is listed under Sculpture closer to the end of the list) Peter hopes to see you at Annie Williams Memorial Park in July!

JANUARY 22, 2012 - Happy New Year! Are you looking to escape the winter blues and remember the summer months gone by? Well look no futher than this video of Peter at The Algonquin Art Centre, back on August 23rd, 2011.  He enjoyed chatting with many visitors at the gallery, and even helped young and old experience creating something in glass themselves.  To see a short video clip of this event, turn up the volume and click on this link.

Also, Peter's latest work, Inner Strength is now available for viewing on the artwork page.

NOVEMBER 20, 2011 - Hello everyone!  It's hard to believe that another Winter and Christmas season are soon approaching.  Seems like just yesterday Annette and I were travelling around the Maritimes in the warm summer breezes. I wanted to make you aware of an upcoming juried art show and sale called Start the Holidays brought to you by Stratford's Start Magazine. There will be live music performed by some of the Stratford Festival's musicians, Revel on the Road espresso bar, sweet and savoury treats by Revel, a cash bar, and of course a great variety of wonderful art work.  It will all take place at Factory 163 on 163 King Street in Stratford, Ontario. The show  will run from noon until 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 3rd.
I will be introducing some new creations called Light Sketches for the first time ever at this show. They are a series of smaller window pieces of various themes from abstracts, some with sea glass, copper leaves and shells, to windswept pines on stone, all for under $200 each.  I'm offering this one time only low price as an incentive for first time collectors of my work.  I will also have some new, medium sized, freestanding pieces as well.
Stratford is a beautiful city to visit at any time of year, but when the old downtown buildings are lit and decorated for Christmas, it has an extra special charm.  Why not come for a day, or the entire weekend, and take in the Start the Holidays Art Show and Sale, as well as the many fine restaurtants and other attractions that Stratford has to offer?
Click here to visit their website for more details. Have a wonderful November, and I hope to see some of you there.

Best regards,
Peter Allan Rice
