Description
The golden hues of a harvest moon shining through a windblown pine, stands testament to a fifty year relationship of love and discovery. Their friendship bloomed as they set their future careers in motion at the University of Toronto. Their commitment to each other began in a small Presbyterian Church in Shakespeare in 1956. A young doctor soon started almost fifty years as a general practitioner in Niagara Falls, and a dedicated nurse played an invaluable and active role in the operation of the office. They were blessed with six children, and now delight in their seventeen grandchildren. Friday night spaghetti dinners are very noisy affairs indeed. Early travels such as their honeymoon in Bermuda, family camping trips in Canada and the United States, and annual trips to Myrtle Beach and Florida, were all capped off with a cruise to the Bahamas fifty years after that October union in a small rural church.
Cottage life at Horseshoe Lake has also strengthened their focus on the family as they welcome everyone within its walls, and to the cooling waters nearby. The windblown pine has also enjoyed the best and sometimes the worst that nature could provide over the past fifty years, but has remained strong and dedicated to its position in the circle of life. Robert and Donna have touched and blessed many lives in their fifty years together, and are now rewarded with an unforgettable collection of Golden Memories.
