Kawatha

Indigenous echoes surround them in this land of reflections and shoreline sparkle. Shimmering waters celebrate five decades of shared hopes and dreams, solemnly pledged to one another, amongst friends and family, in sunlit brilliance. Laurentian beauty surrounded a young couple with the majesty of woodland splendour, crystal waters, and mountain vistas. They rejoiced in achievements, both large and small, through a common respect for each others’ talents, with spirits refreshed by nature’s embrace. Sports on frozen surfaces, and diamond fields of emerald rust, became their unifier, and through respect for each other they flourished. The joy of a baby boy, who to this day possesses humorous traits and a love and caring for his soulmate and two children, fulfill them as grandparents. Sleek autos have guided them down roads of discovery in youthful exhilaration, but life’s twists and turns have proven that hard work and a desire to make a small difference in the world will overcome pain, grief, and sadness. They stand as two strong trees, encircled by another two generations of four, and quietly welcome nature into their grasp. Joy and gratitude are found in each other, on this palette laid out before them, as they dream of future gatherings in this land respectfully named Kawatha.

Paddle strokes heard through the morning mist foreshadow an artist in search of inspiration. Algonquin presents its gifts to all who are willing to receive. Some see landscapes in vibrant colours and bold brushstrokes, while others pass without thought. Be a painter with your presence. Protect the forest, and guide others to respect its treasures. Move slowly, and absorb the vistas before you. Take pause from devices that distract, and discover your inner Thomson.
