Labradorescence
Labradorescence - Image 2

Labradorescence

A shaman’s essence reaches beneath the outer shell of grey and black, and seeks the hidden realms and deeper meaning beneath this everyday world. Allow this ancient “stone of magic” to release its iridescent Auroras, so that they may dance and swirl in the frigid, night sky. Let your inner being delve deep into the core of the Fire Rock, and be transformed to a place of ethereal beauty and consciousness. Rejoice in the past, and anticipate future visions enhanced by the strength emanating from within. Like the wind ravaged Black Spruce that survives while clinging to the protective powers of Labradorite, display perseverance and strength, and stay strong in the face of adversity, all in the spirit of Labradorescence.

    Courage

A man weaves tales of this land through poetry and song. Senses are awakened by images of past glory, as well as those of immeasurable pain. Challenges are whispered, to all who will listen, from frail limbs and foreboding eyes. Chanie Wenjack’s secret path jolts us into uncomfortable realizations of historical disconnects, and untold misery on the tip of a Raven’s wing. Pearls of wisdom, spoken by a sister, seek a different world through truth and reconciliation. We are all connected to someone, as Gord is to Chanie. Follow the examples of those who came before us, and seek the strength to facilitate change. Let us dance for healing under the moonlight on ashes of love. All is possible with the promise and power of courage.

    Reflections of Thomson

A young Tom Thomson living in urban surrounds, sought solitude in the majestic bluffs of Scarborough. Venturing further east he explored the calm of a lake named Scugog, where inspiration lead to the creation of Near Lake Scugog and Evening Lake Scugog. His gaze is distant, while his four legged companion’s is inward. Was this a sign of his bold interpretations of future northern landscapes? Look inward at your accomplishments and interactions that have proven to be a positive influence on the world, but also look ahead with determination and creativity for a future rich with a canvas filled with vibrant brush strokes. Could these be the lessons of Reflections of Thomson?

    Celestial Light

We raised our eyes, three years past, to ribbons of glorious light dancing on cobalt skies. Shimmering translucence scattering untold diamonds in reflections of yesterday. We shed tears for the indiscretions of men, but bathe in the goodness and comfort of those around us. Lift up your spirits in the presence of others, for the world is a wondrous place. Take time to bask in the glow of the celestial light.
