Paddle Board Series #4

Paddle Board Series #4

This is only the fourth sculpture in my new Paddle Board Series. You will notice the edition number and my signature engraved on the back of the glass paddle board. This Paddleboard Series started in February of 2022 and this piece was created in November 2024. Even when I create more in the future, yours will always be the fourth paddle board that I’ve created in existence. Its value will only increase with the passage of time. The base I have used for this sculpture is a wonderful piece of Brazilian Amethyst, and I have reflected the colour in the violet glass for the paddle board and tree. I think the stripe on the board is quite eye catching, and this is the very first paddle board sculpture that I have added a loon to. It is attached to the root of the tree and appears to be drifting by the island on calm waters. I hope that it reminds you of paddling on your favourite lake or river whenever you view it. The piece, with its two-toned blue paddle board, really “comes to life” when placed by a window, but you probably already have a location in mind for it.

Your clear waters calm my soul with every stroke of my paddle. My red canoe is drawn to islands where solitude and reflection have sustained me through formative years. A father’s love of nature flows through my veins like warm Summer breezes, and lessons learned are appreciated with every sunset’s glow.  You are the catalyst that reunites long lost friends. You are Lac-du-Cerf.

Seek out those who uplift and guide you to calm and safe harbours, like the reassurance of the Cove Island beacon.

    Moonlight Embrace

We stand alone in silent reflection, remembering the day we have just shared. Each moment spent in appreciation for the presence of the other. Stars begin to scatter across a darkening sky, as rocky shores turn magically from solid monoliths to glassy, translucent points of light. The perfect ending to a day of discovery and love is captured in a moonlight embrace.
