Your clear waters calm my soul with every stroke of my paddle. My red canoe is drawn to islands where solitude and reflection have sustained me through formative years. A father’s love of nature flows through my veins like warm Summer breezes, and lessons learned are appreciated with every sunset’s glow. You are the catalyst that reunites long lost friends. Birch, Red Maple, and Pine stand on the shore of an Autumn lake, as a symbol of perseverance and diversity. St. Pauls College introduced two young students to each other, as well as the opportunity to make other life long friends. Love blossomed between the two, and led to a stiffling hot August day in seventy-seven, where exchanged vows changed their lives forever. Gibson Lake taught them the joys of paddling, and Killarney proved that the quickest way to escape a bear was to head out on the water.
Stand above the world’s injustices and misguided leaders, and shine your light for others to follow. Those who have lost their way will feel the warmth of your presence, and be lead to higher ground above stormy and turbulent waters. Seek out those who uplift and guide you to calm and safe harbours, like the reassurance of the Cove Island beacon.
