The harvest moon arrives once again, above the fertile landscape, to remind us to be faithful guardians of the soil and the air. Colours change from vibrant greens, through the brilliant warm spectrum, and finally fade to brown. All under the gaze of the harvest moon.

Childhood memories flowed between us like aquatic creatures waving in a chorus of coral blues and emerald greens. We shared thoughts of our mortality, as well as lives lived, with understanding passed with clairvoyant ease. Be happy my dear sister, for we have truly fulfilled a dream of a lifetime. We have lived. We have loved, and we have danced with tribal abandon. Know that I am at peace, as I am in heaven with the door shut.

More than one hundred years have passed over Achray landscapes. A guardian of the land, entrusted to protect the pillars of the forest, ventured along Grand Lake shores in search of inspiration. Across the waters of Carcajou Bay, violet horizons roll in serpentine rhythms, while foreground branches bow in sunbathed splendor. He ensured his dependent lived forever in his oil sketch, as rocky shores, pristine waters, and windswept Pines were the culmination of Thomson’s Jack Pine visions.
Blustery winds stir waves in these Manitoulin waters we call Kagawong. Travellers take pause to enjoy their surroundings, and look deep into the promising crevasses of life. Soon the waves will cease and reveal our path beyond the Kagawong shores.
Indigenous echoes surround them in this land of reflections and shoreline sparkle.
