Nocturnal life blends into the next with the approaching dawn. Distant shores cloaked in chrysalis shimmer wait for release from nature’s shroud. Mist creeps across cool waters, caressing gentle giants that lie quietly anchored on scattered granite. All lay in wait for the coming warmth, where all is visible, and all is possible in the this life altering metamorphosis.
Spring has come to Algonquin in reluctant strokes of fragile warmth. Cool waters ripple as icy coverings are released, and return slowly to fluid motion. A small Muskoka island stands alone, as the sun sets below a bank of storm clouds in the distance. The granite has been cut in two locations to allow the tree and the stone to be placed in front of the semi-circular background glass. The pine mantle and edging frame reflect the colours of the piece, to create this majestic scene.
My red canoe anchors me to solitude and reflection. I release myself from artificial connections that ultimately rob me of the gift of much deeper interactions with the natural world, and those around me. Disconnect from that mind set, and glide through the water as you absorb the true essence of the pristine lake. Stop, rest, and rejoice in the beauty of Muskoka reflections.
As we journey from pain to comfort, the sun rises and sets. The skies brighten and darken. The clouds and winds come and go. May you move with acceptance to the rhythms of nature in your journey to good health.
