Description
Silence is broken by paddles moving rhythmically side to side through still and quiet waters. A gentle wake recedes and leaves no witness to our past and no clues of our destination. From high, a raven’s call pierces the morning air acknowledging an uncertain future, but with hopes of peaceful exploration. Towering pines gently sway in warm, summer breezes as steady progress graces our journey absorbing the spirit of these waters enveloping us. Faint calls in distant shimmers signal the return of a loon family whose movements ensure the current vitality of their surroundings. These are the memories of a place we love and promise to protect called Lake Abanakee.
