Free standing sculptures

Despair, negative thoughts, and worry often cripple our energy, and our will to succeed. A pine seedling can either view the rock that it is perched on as an indestructible force that is working against it, or take a bold step and set down the first root of discovery.  As time passes, all will work out as it should when we handle our obstacles with inner strength.

How do you measure the passing of three decades of memories on an island gem?  You recall the second and third generations of visitors who now call you friends.  Children, followed by six grandchildren continue to fill your hearts with love and joy as they breathe new life into our appreciation of nature’s wonders.  A man’s love of flight has assured that he was keeping it level, and always had his eyes on the horizon.  She has been kind and caring, and always in tune to other’s feelings in her work and in her play.  As you sit quietly on the deck of Cabin #4 at ice-out, or at sunset’s glow, rejoice in a job well done, and give thanks for all who have contributed to your immeasurable collection of warm and life changing island memories.

This collector piece is one out of a growing edition that I started creating in 2016. You will notice that the edition number and the artist’s signature is engraved on the back of the kayak, so as more pieces are created in the Kayak Series in the future, the lower edition numbers will translate to an increase in value with the passage of time.
